The Numbers Behind The Healing
Impact Reports
Our work is rooted in community and measured in outcomes. Here’s what happens when schools invest in educator wellbeing.
Real Change. Real Data.
Based on evaluation data collected by our partner Data+Soul across six partner schools and 462 educators, Healing Schools Project is delivering measurable progress toward our core mission — keeping educators in the profession, reducing burnout, and building school cultures where everyone thrives.
2025 in Numbers
Educators and school leaders reached in the first half of 2025 alone
%
Of BIPOC educators and new teachers intend to stay in the profession — up from 67–69% at baseline
%
Decrease in educators reporting depressive symptoms
Impact in the Face of Real Challenges
These outcomes didn’t happen in a vacuum. Our educators are navigating a 289% increase in high perceived stress driven by political threats, potential federal education funding cuts, and ICE enforcement actions affecting school communities. And yet — healing is happening.
That’s the power of a community-centered approach.
Beyond the Numbers: Schools Are Changing
Our work creates ripple effects that go beyond individual educators:
✦ Schools report improved teacher morale and stronger collegial relationships
✦ Leaders demonstrate increased capacity to recognize and address educator burnout
✦ Districts are embedding wellness into retention strategies
✦ Teachers report feeling more seen, valued, and supported
“Healing Schools Project doesn’t offer surface-level fixes. They provide space for reflection, tools for healing, and ongoing support that honors the full humanity of our educators.”
— Yasmeen Sampson, Principal, Philips Academy, Newark
Deepening Our Reach
We currently partner with schools and districts across:
📍 NYC Public Schools
📍 Newark, NJ
We are deepening our presence in District 9 and expanding our partnership with Newark Board of Education — and we’re actively looking for new school and district partners who are ready to make educator wellbeing a foundation, not an afterthought.
